Newsletter & Chapter Report

Director, Jim Frambes brought the meeting to order at approximately 7:30 PM.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer, Abby Munyan reported the balance

OLD BUSINESS:

Director Frambes welcomed back the Webers’ and Riehls’ from their 3 week trip out west.  They ran into every type of weather along the way and can testify how good those cameras are in catching speeders!  The Cuff’s have also returned safely from their trip to Tennessee.

JULY 16-18: The Wellsboro trip was a blast!  Jim and Pat Frambes led the way with the Harpers, Fords, Horners, and Sauls.  Shady Maple for breakfast was the first stop. We traveled to the Grand Canyon of PA and all around Leonard State Park. The Canyon Motel was very biker friendly and offered towels to clean your bike.  Harland Restaurant was a great place for breakfast. Wharton has a great place to have Perry’s Ice Cream at the General Store. The Wharton tavern has dollar bills posted on the walls signed by all who visit.  Your Momma’s Mug had the best sign: “If it’s petty, don’t sweat it; and if it’s sweaty, don’t pet it”!  Good advice for all.  We had awesome dinners both nights. The Mango Rum was a hit.  Great roads, food and fun had by all.

JULY ICE CREAM RUN was to The Purple Penguin.  We had 14 present for delicious treats and time to chew the fat.  Helps burn those calories!

AUGUST 8TH Breakfast ride was to the Mauricetown Diner on Rt. 47.  They had the back room for the 16 people who attended.   We had 12 bikes and 15 riders.  After breakfast, Steve led us on a nice ride to Turkey Point and then onto Fortescue to check out the fishermen.  It was a beautiful day for a ride.  Nice job, Steve!

NEW BUSINESS:

MASTORI’S:  Some of us hit 295 on Sunday for Bordentown to have breakfast at Mastori’s.  It was very good!  Steve was on a mission to find Turkish Taffy so we headed to Smithville in Galloway Township afterwards.  It was cloudy all day but we only hit a few sprinkles here and there.  Steve found some nice road to wonder on.  I must say, Steve was right – traffic is light on 295 early Sunday morning and the sand is deep on Blueberry Road.

AUGUST 18 WEDNESDAY ICE CREAM RUN: Elmer Twist was selected.  Meet there at 7 PM

SUNDAY, AUG 22:    My friend and cancer survivor, Patti Donofrio is sponsoring the 1st Annual LIGHT THE WAY FOR THE CAUSE RIDE. We discussed again and there will be 17 that plan to attend.  Patti was treated for cancer at the comfort center at Rena Rowan Center at the Univ. of Penn. and all proceeds will go directly to that facility.  REGISTRATION IS 8AM at Tinicum lighthouse in Paulsboro on Mantua Avenue and 2nd Street; 2nd stop is East Point Lighthouse in Maurice River Twp; 3rd stop at Cape May Lighthouse.  Patti’s doctor will be there and would like a group photo.  Babe's Bar and Grill on Broad Street in Gibbstown is the final stop for food (included).  The grand prize drawing is a one week stay in a condo at Myrtle Beach. Cost is $25 per couple; $15 single. You can contact Patti directly at 856-423-4008 or email clipper@113@comcast.net
